Dr. Julij Nemanič receives the Diploma of Honor of the F.I.C.B.

The Slovenian Consulate of the Ordo Equestris Vini Europae held a remarkable Chapter on Saturday, May 14 in the historic city of Celje, where Dr. Julij Nemanič was awarded the Diploma of Honor of the F.I.C.B., and where the creation of a Legacy of the Celje region, where the Chapter was held, was also carried out within the Slovenian Brotherhood.

The Ceremony, which took place in the Abbey Church of St. Daniel before a large audience with delegations from Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, Italy and France, was presided over by Tomislav Kovačič, Senator, former Vice President of the F.I.C.B. and himself a holder of our Honorary Diploma.

After the blessings and inductions, the Secretary General of F.I.C.B., Marc Lesk, mandated by the President, recalled the merits of Dr. Nemanič, who has greatly contributed to the development of grapevine cultivation and to the quality of Slovenian wines, both in the field and at the University. His speech was translated by Ambassador Marin Berovič.

Diploma of Honor

The gala dinner held at the Celjski Dom, preceded by a concert of folk songs on the theme of vine and wine, was an opportunity to tour the vineyards of Slovenia and their treasures, accompanying the gastronomic dinner.
Prior to this event, Janesz Dezman, F.I.C.B. Vice President for Slovenia, and Milan Pogačnik, from the Alliance of the Knights of the Slovenian Order of Wine (ZDRUZENJE SLOVENSKEGA REDA VITEZOV VINA), had fraternally welcomed Marc Lesk to Ljubliana.
