Welcoming the Brotherhoods: in Oregon and Madeira

One of the FICB’s missions is to facilitate friendly exchanges amongst its members.

To this end, we organise events such as Congresses, Wine Discovery Trips, Tasting Challenges, and so on.

Along with the Annual General Meeting, held every year in Paris in early February, these events provide an opportunity to get to know one another and to catch up with friends from all over the world who share the same passion.

Our events calendar serves as a tool to publicise the events organised by our brotherhoods and to encourage members of other brotherhoods to take part.

Individual initiatives are also to be encouraged, such as that of the Hong Kong (The Hong Kong Wine Society) and Macau (Confraria dos Enofilos de Macau) brotherhoods, which established contact with the Madeira wine and gastronomy brotherhood, which welcomed them during a group visit to the island.

See the report in the Madeira newspaper JM, and on Gregorio Freitas’s Facebook page

Mentionnons également des démarches personnelles comme celle de Sandra, de l’Ordine dei cavalieri del tartufo e dei vini di Alba.

Keen to learn about Oregon’s vineyards and wines, she got in touch with Ken Hick of the Oregon Wine Brotherhood. It was a wise move. An account of her visit can be found in the attached document.

Dear colleagues, let us throw open the doors of our brotherhoods and share our experiences!
