Grand Conseil of the Echansonnerie des Papes in Avignon on 6 December 2014

The Echansonnerie des Papes, a wine brotherhood member of F.I.C.B. since its inception, dedicates itself to promoting the wines of CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE.

CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE is a village located between Avignon and Orange, overlooking one of the most beautiful sceneries of Provence. It is world famous for the quality of its red and white wines. Their longstanding experience allows its vintners to make widely known and highly appreciated the originality, complexity and reputation of their wines.

During their stay in Avignon during the XIVth century, the Popes, especially John XXII who built the palace, developed the vineyards of Châteauneuf and contributed greatly to their world exposure.

The Grand Conseil of the Echansonnerie des Papes is their peak event of the year. It took place on 6 December 2014 inside the Palais des Papes itself. In this history loaded venue, this exceptional evening saw 21 V.I.P.s were inducted, including Jean-Pierre ALAUX, journalist, author and Lissa PILLU, producer of the famous TV series “The blood of the vine”, the last episode of which takes place in the region of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Other inductees were journalists, restaurant owners, sommeliers, business persons and physicians.
