THE RENAUD SOCIETY

The Renaud Society is an international society of medical professionals, and others, with an interest in better health and a passion for wine. The society supports medical research, medical conferences, and seminars on wine and health issues, including a preeminent biannual International and Health Summit attended by leading researchers in research and clinical fields of wine & health.
The society sponsors an annual Harvest Dinner at a unique winery site and blinded wine competition where wineries compete for medals of recognition, as well as the Renaud Tastevin awarded to best-in-competition. The society honors the memory of its Maître d’Honneur, Professor Serge Renaud, father of the French Paradox.

2019 International Wine & Health Summit @ Davis The Summit is an international congress that invites leading research scientists and clinicians in the field of wine, alcohol and health, and wine industry personalities, as well as passionate wine enthusiasts, to participate in this a one-of-a-kind academic and social program. It is an extraordinary experience for those who share an academic interest and passion for wine, lifestyle, and health. The Renaud Society are proud sponsors of this program, along with the Desert Heart Foundation and the Robert Mondavi Institute for Food & Wine Science at UC Davis. The program is charged with addressing the complicated topics surrounding wine, alcohol, health and longevity. The program will welcome the participation of local wine producers and vineyards who provide Summit delates with a warm meritage of Northern California Wine Country hospitality.
The Harvest Dinner The 2018 Harvest Dinner celebrated the 2018 harvest at this one of a kind European Medevil Castle, recreated and crafted at the personal direction of Dario Sattui, owner and principal of Castello di Amarosa Winery & V. Sattui Winery, St. Helena, California. (winesummit.com) Dinner included memorable farm to table local foods paired with a special selection of wines of the castle, and a tasting from the Society cellar. Society members also received a commemorative pin. New Society members received their society ribbon with the society tastevin,
unveiled at this event for the first time .

The Renaud Society Annual Wine Competition

A blinded wine competition for the coveted Renaud Tastevin was organized in 2018 in the Napa Valley, in partnership with the Desert Heart Foundation, a nonprofit research and education foundation.
