The F.I.C.B. Diploma of Honour presented to Svetozar Janevski on the occasion of World Vranec Day in Skopje

5 October was “World Vranec Day”, a red grape variety emblematic of North Macedonia and the Balkan region. The day was marked by a wine fair and an exceptional concert at the Skopje Opera House, organised by the Association of the “Wines of Macedonia”, the professional organisation of winegrowers in North Macedonia. Numerous Macedonian personalities and members of the diplomatic corps attended the event, which was honoured by the presence of Mrs Gordana Siljanovska-Dakova, President of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The event gave the opportunity to present the F.I.C.B. Diploma of Honour awarded to Mr Svetozar Janevski, president of The Tikvesh Winery, the largest vineyard in Macedonia, with almost 1500 hectares of vines, founded in 1885.
Mr. Janevski is also the owner of several other Macedonian wineries and of Château de Gourdon in the renowned Côtes du Rhône region of France.
