We are happy to announce the publication of a detailed article in Oregon Wine Press, a leading Oregon wine magazine, about this flourishing brotherhood, many of whose members participate in our international events. It comes following a meet-up between our dear Ken Hick and Greg Norton, a writer specialising in wine.
Founded in 1996, the Oregon Wine Brotherhood joined the FICB the following year and hosted its congress in Portland in 2001.
Beyond its own activities (chapters, tastings, etc.), the Brotherhood promotes university educational programmes and provides financial support to students of oenology and viticulture, as well as organisations that support vineyard workers.
As President Alan Bryden said: ‘Indeed, you have collectively developed OWB to be an example of what a modern wine brotherhood should be.’
The FICB is mentioned several times in this article, a contribution for which we are grateful to our international reputation.
The development of the FICB and our member brotherhoods comes through such encounters.
Congratulations to Ken and to the Oregon Wine Brotherhood!
