HUNGARIAN FEDERATION OF WINE BROTHERHOODS

The National Federation of Wine Brotherhoods of Hungary was established in 1985 to coordinate the activities of the eight founding brotherhoods. Today, our Federation comprises 42 brotherhoods.

The aim of the guilds and their members is to raise awareness of appellations, regions and Hungarian wines in general. We want to associate viticulture and winemaking with the culture, history and traditions of the regions for wine lovers.

At the same time, we are the spokespersons or ‘ambassadors’ for moderate wine consumption, teaching wine lovers to ‘appreciate and consume in moderation’. We promote our wines through our high standards and reputation.

More generally, we contribute to spreading the culture and importance of moderate consumption of this ‘Bacchic drink’ among civil society.
