ORDINE DEI CAVALIERI DEL TARTUFO E DEI VINI DI ALBA

On the 22nd of February 1967, in a small restaurant in Grinzane Cavour, the Oenogastronomic Association named « Order of the Knights of the Truffle and the Wines of Alba » was established. Its aim is to promote the fine cuisine of the Langhe region.

Throughout the year, the Order organizes meetings called « Chapters » where issues related to food are debated and during which traditional dishes are presented and prepared following authentic recipes, all of which are then accompanied by high-quality wines selected by experts of the Order.

Since the establishment of the Order, these events have always taken place in the historic castle of Grinzane Cavour, which is also the seat of the Enoteca Regionale and of the One-Michelin-Star Restaurant of the Castle.

The Order is composed of the following bodies :

• The Grand Council
• The Sovereign Council
• The Grand Master
• The Honorary Grand Master

The Grand Council appoints the members of the Sovereign Council and the Grand Master.

The Sovereign Council names three experts of the food commission and three experts of the wine commission. It appoints :

• The Treasurer
• The Chancellor
• The Ceremony Master
• The Honorary Master
• The Active Members(Wise companions)
