{"id":7655,"date":"2024-10-27T12:46:04","date_gmt":"2024-10-27T11:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/?p=7655"},"modified":"2025-05-13T11:59:48","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T09:59:48","slug":"the-conseil-des-echansons-de-france-celebrates-its-70th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/en\/2024\/10\/27\/the-conseil-des-echansons-de-france-celebrates-its-70th-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"The Conseil des Echansons de France celebrates its 70th anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Saturday October 12, the Conseil des Echansons de France, a founding member of the FICB, celebrated its 70th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n<p>The event was celebrated in the church of Sainte-Odile, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, with an anniversary mass, celebrated by the Archbishop of Paris Mgr Laurent Ulrich, followed by an induction ceremony and lunch in the crypt.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"966\" height=\"505\" src=\"https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/ensemble3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7632\" srcset=\"https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/ensemble3.jpeg 966w, https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/ensemble3-300x157.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/ensemble3-768x401.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 966px) 100vw, 966px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>In front of numerous brotherhoods, including several members of the FICB,<br\/>Grand Chancelier <strong>Claude JOSSE<\/strong>, honorary president of the FICB (of which he was president from 1984 to 2014), recounted the history of the Confr\u00e9rie since its creation in 1954 by Andr\u00e9 Bonin and leading figures from the wine world. He became Grand Chancellor in March 1984. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"598\" src=\"https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/banniereechansons.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7634\" style=\"width:499px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/banniereechansons.jpeg 640w, https:\/\/winebrotherhoods.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/banniereechansons-300x280.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>A decisive moment was the acquisition in 1984 of the <em>cellars of the Minimes monks<\/em>, now the headquarters of our Brotherhood and home to the <em>Mus\u00e9e du Vin<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab<em> This place is the symbol of our commitment to preserving not only the objects that tell the story of wine, but also the traditions and know-how that have shaped this culture. Jean-Jacques <strong>Hervy<\/strong>, its curator, has assembled a unique collection of over 2,500 objects, precious witnesses to the art of the Vine and Wine.\u201d <\/em>. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n<p>Another significant milestone was the acquisition in 1990 of <em>Ch\u00e2teau Labastidi\u00e9<\/em> and its 51 hectares of vines in the Gaillac vineyards, \u201ca <em>pillar of our commitment to quality and authenticity.<\/em>\u201d \u00bb<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_container swiper-container\"><ul commitment, have contributed to the greatness of Les Echansons, the Grand Chancellor concluded his address by recalling this simple truth so dear to our hearts: \u201c<em>Water separates men, but wine recalling in particular that:<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab <em>\u201cThe Conseil des Echansons de France played a decisive role in the creation of our Federation in 1964 in Paris, alongside other major French and foreign confraternities. Its first Grand Chancellor, Andr\u00e9 Bonin, was one of the main driving forces behind its creation. Les Echansons successfully organized our first International Congress in Champagne in 1966, followed by several others, most recently in 2014, again in Champagne.
