The 297th<\/sup> Chapter of the Knights of the Truffle and Wines of Alba, known as the “Chapter of the Autumn Mist”, took place on 13 November 2021 at the magnificent Castle of Malabaila in the Langhe region. Chaired by Bianca VETRINO, Grand Master and Vice President for Italy of the F.I.C.B., it was the occasion for the President of the F.I.C.B., Alan BRYDEN, to present the Diploma of Honour of our federation to Giacomo ODDERO. Known as the “King of Barolo”, he is a personality unanimously respected for his skills in viticulture and, more generally, for his contribution to the economic development of the Piedmont region. <\/p>\n\n

The following day, the traditional world auction of the Alba white truffle took place at the Grinzane-Cavour Castle, headquarters of the Order of the Knights of Alba, in its 22nd<\/sup> edition. This spectacular sale took place with the remote participation of buyers based in Moscow, Singapore, Dubai and Hong Kong. Proceeds from the white truffle sales exceeded \u20ac450,000 and will be donated entirely to charity. The main lot, a truffle weighing over 800g, was sold for \u20ac103,000 to a buyer from Hong Kong. <\/p>\n\n
