The brotherhood was founded in 2009 by a group of wine-loving friends.\n\nThe brotherhood meets every last Friday of each month.\n\nWe hold one major event per year, bringing together over 200 people, always in September.\n\nA president is elected for a three-year term. During his term, he organizes one event per year + three St. Vincent celebrations.\n\nThe brotherhood has a total of seven ranks:\n\nCompanion\n\nGrand Companion\n\nMaster Companion\n\nMaster\n\nGrand Master\n\nGrand Master of Honor\n\nGrand Master of St. Bacchus\n\nACTIVITIES\n\nOne monthly chapter (last Friday of the month)\n\nOne event per year in September during a three-year term\n\nPrestige Evening\n\nBacchanal Evening\n\nWine and Cheese Evening\n\nOne St. Vincent celebration at the end of January\n\nNew member inductions, once per semester\n\nFirst event at the end of September<\/span><\/pre><\/div>

Evening of September 27, 2024\n\nWine and Cheese Pairing\n\nAs usual, the Brotherhood of Saint Bacchus of French Guiana organized a memorable event. The evening took place on Friday, September 27, with the theme of pairing French wines and cheeses.\n\nA total of 42 varieties of cheese, 12 different types of bread, and 10 wines selected by two Cayenne wine merchants were offered.\n\n220 guests attended this event, which was unanimously praised for the exceptional quality of the products as well as the warm, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere.\n\nFor our brotherhood, this was also our 177th chapter, with one chapter held monthly since its creation in 2009.\n\nThe outcome of this evening was more than positive: joy reigned in the room, and this meeting was a true demonstration of our expertise and dynamism for the Brotherhood of Saint Bacchus of French Guiana.\n\nWe would like to thank the 15 students from the Hotel and Restaurant Management department at Melkior Garr\u00e9 High School, accompanied by their teachers, for their dedication. They provided quality service throughout the evening.<\/span><\/pre><\/div>
In his speech, the Grand Commander recalled the full meaning of the word \"brotherhood.\"\n\nSocietal, because we find brotherhoods in all regions of France, some existing for centuries, others younger like ours, who follow the same paths.\n\nAll share a common goal: sharing, which fosters exchanges, brings together different communities, and celebrates the love of values, in order to preserve our cultural and culinary heritage. A Bordeaux wine cannot resemble a wine from another country, nor can a typical cheese be that of another. This is why brotherhoods ardently defend our terroirs and our values, thus preserving our quality products.\n\nAdded to this is the importance of transmission, because in a context of standardization and globalization, brotherhoods have an obligation to go against the grain of what our world is heading towards: a uniform world where countries are becoming continents, where we must all be identical. The brotherhoods condemn this world.<\/span><\/pre><\/div>
Each brotherhood is different, but that doesn't prevent them from meeting, appreciating and respecting each other, and maintaining their identity while sharing each other's ideas and the crusades they lead.\n\nThe role of brotherhoods is to safeguard all our products and traditions.\n\nWe, the Brotherhood of Saint Bacchus of French Guiana, are but one link in a great, united and necessary chain.\n\nFrance must represent gastronomy, regions, local products, and, finally, localities, the rarity of exceptional products.\n\nThe powerful message the Grand Commander wished to convey is this: let us preserve our identities and together contribute to the well-being of our future generations.<\/span><\/pre><\/div>

This edition of the 183rd chapter was distinguished by its openness to a wider audience, with the stated ambition of inspiring vocations and, perhaps, encouraging the creation of a sister brotherhood on the sister island.<\/span><\/pre><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
